Schools can play a tremendously important role in cultivating qualities that foster empathy and generosity in young people. Here are some ideas on how your school can celebrate #GivingTuesdayLebanon:
Your school can donate to any NGO on December 3, 2024 and post about it on social media, adding #GivingTuesdayLebanon #GivingTuesdayBeirut #GivingTuesday to the post, or simply inform us about it.
You can invite your teachers to donate one day’s pay to any NGO that week.
You can invite students to bring items that can be sold that week to the support staff that works at the school as well as the students’ nannies/drivers with a specific value per item.
You can organise a collection drive at the school of stationery items, clothes and toys in collaboration with NGOs like Caritas Lebanon, Live Love Beirut, Lebanese Food Bank, etc…
You can invite students to draw an act of kindness or make a greeting card and sell it to raise funds for an NGO or support staff member.
Organize a blood drive! Don't stop there! Please consider saving a life by donating blood!
Through a WhatsApp/Telegram/Messenger message, you can encourage parents to share a giving-related story on social media on December 3, 2024 by adding #GivingTuesdayLebanon #GivingTuesdayBeirut #GivingTuesday and #MyGivingStoryLebanon to the post or submit stories on here.
You can distribute flyers containing Random Acts of Kindness ideas to students and teachers. (Examples: Tell a support staff member how valued and important they are. Give a toy to a random child on the street. Make a handwritten greeting card to thank the “natoor”.)
You can set up a Kindness Wall at your school premises, and invite students and teachers to share acts of kindness that they engaged in and received.
